About the Institute
The Institute of Spintronics and Quantum Information (ISQI) has been appointed on January 1, 2021 by Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, the Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The Institute has been established on the initiative of three departments of the Faculty of Physics: the Department of Mesoscopic Physics, the Department of Nanostructures Physics and the Department of Nonlinear Optics.
In September 2021 the Department of Theory of Condensed Matter joined the Institute.
The main scientific interests of the Institute encompass the most fundamental aspects of condensed matter physics including spintronics, magnonics, phononics, quantum matter physics, as well as quantum optics, quantum information and cavity- and circuit-electrodynamics. The conducted research is important for designing the nanodevices for processing, transmitting, and storing classical and quantum information. Our scientific investigations are focused on theory and numerical simulations, however, experimental studies on magnonic and phononic nanostructures are also carried out.
