Prof. UAM Konrad Kapcia’s project has received NAWA funding

Prof. UAM dr. hab. Konrad Kapcia’s project entitled: “Modeling of ultrafast electronic processes in selected condensed matter systems and quantum dots” has received funding by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) as part of the National Component of the Mieczysław Bekker program (2020 edition) [the project will be performed in period 05/2024-04/2025].

“The purpose of the National Component is to ensure the development of the scientific career of scholarship holders of the Bekker NAWA Program, implementing at least eighteen-month projects and planning to create a new, independent research team after returning to the country. The National Component will allow Scientists to optimally use their participation in the NAWA Bekker Program, and will also help to create stable employment conditions in Poland. The result of this action will be the creation of independent research teams by Scientists ready to implement further research grants.” [translated from NAWA website]

Previously, in the years 2021-2023, as part of the NAWA BEKKER program (2020 edition), prof. UAM K. Kapcia was a head of the project entitled: “Modeling of ultrafast demagnetization induced by X-ray pulses in magnetic materials” at the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science (CFEL) – Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg. During the implementation of the project, a number of interesting results were obtained, published in 18 scientific articles in prestigious scientific journals such as, e.g., npj Computational Materials, Physical Review Letters, Scientific Reports, Structural Dynamics or Physical Review B.
