Squeezing of quantum states is a well-established technique for reducing quantum noise and enhancing measurement precision. In this talk, I will show that even virtual squeezing—emerging in strongly interacting systems—can serve as a powerful resource for quantum metrology. Focusing on the paradigmatic Dicke model, which describes the interaction between a collective spin ensemble and a single-mode electromagnetic field, I will present a method that leverages hybridized light-matter modes to enhance precision beyond classical limits. These findings reveal the metrological potential of virtual excitations and open new avenues for exploiting ultrastrong light-matter coupling in a wide range of quantum technologies.
